The Basics of a Butterfly Knife

I was bored earlier, so I made a stupid-short Butterfly Knife Tutorial, on the basic anatomy as well as the basic one-handed opening and closing of the knife.

How To Use A Butterfly Knife (Basic Opening And Closing) - Funny home videos are a click away

Watch the video, go to the Metacafe link on it, and vote for it :)

While I'd agree, there's a million ways to open a butterfly knife, and that was just the first way I've ever learned it.

*shrug* :/

Well, first, you need to check the legality of buying one in your state/check for availability in your local Chinatown, but if it's legal to buy one where you live, my butterfly is from Benchmade.

If you are afraid of really, really sharp things, I would probably avoid Benchmade and go with some cheapo brand instead. :)

the way you opened the knife is all correct and is pretty useful. Could you please do some more complex manouvers with it... I need to learn more. And BTW... Do it really slooooowww. I use a Pentium II.

You can buy dull practice blades for many knives, or, if you'd like, you can do what I did and invest in a really cheap butterfly and dull it yourself. I'd highly suggest not learning to use one of these with a knife that can actually break skin.

that was great you need to do some vids on how to throw them next cuz i seen a guy who didnt even have to open it to throw it blade first evry time i think the handle may have been weighted or something but was really cool either way
