Bad Technique Habits in Martial Arts That Annoy the Hell Out of Me

(Caption: Guy on the ight should get his fingers chopped off)

Possibly a series I may continue, here are 4 Martial Art Technique Habits that Annoy Me:

Crossing the Ankles while securing Rear Mount
Yes, the guy who you're trying to sink a Rear Naked Choke into can apply an ankle lock on you just by putting a little pressure on your ankles. There's really nothing more embarrassing in grappling than submitting while you're in a much better position than your opponent, let alone Rear Mount.

Interlocking the Fingers getting the Muay Thai Clinch
Take a Hammer and just start breaking your own fingers one by one while you're at it. My God. And shame on the multiple Army guys I've seen doing/teaching this crap.

Not squeezing forearms together after getting the Thai Clinch
Another Thai Clinch one: Just because you get that Thai Plum (yes, slang for the MT clinch), doesn't mean you get to be lazy. Squeeze that sucker's neck, right under the jaw line, so that he can't simply frame out and escape. You worked hard enough to get that position- finish it properly.

Stalling out on the Guard Top position
Please. Learn how to pass the F'ing Guard. Trying to crossface occasionally doesn't count. Please.

Dear Readers: If you have anything that bothers you in the general Martial Arts world, feel free to shoot me an email or leave me a comment.

What about insisting on holding onto a guillotine/headlock for dear life from the bottom after the top guy has passed to side?

Excellent addition- that combined with the "I'm sure this'll turn into a submission eventually"-spaztastic noobie makes rolling just that much more painful mentally and emotionally.
