I wrote a breakdown in how to achieve a stable mount a little while back and I found it in some old notes I didn't know I still had.
First Step- Solidify to Wear Down
A friend once referred to this part as "Taming the Bronco," mostly because he would use it to wear down a person while they would attempt to buck/Upa the mountee off.
The methods is this: either hook your opponent's feet with your own and control his legs, or cross your feet in what I will refer to here as "pulling guard from top mount." As the control for below the waist gets established, you get a wide base with your arms, and drive your hips into your opponent's gut. This establishes a very solid mount that is hard to escape from, but it does lock you in position.

Second Step: Loose Attack Mode
Now that your transition into mount wasn't immediately spoiled by a bucking opponent, and he's calmed down some, it's time to be able to unfasten your self from your opponent and be able to attack. While I don't have a video for this part, Pedro Sauer has good tips on what to do once you have to rely on your weight to keep your opponent pinned-
- Stay loose in the mount- when you are so concerned with holding him down you, in fact, make it easier for him to escape the mount.
- If your opponent tries to buck, give in and let him move beneath you. He will be sliding and twisting but you will be steady. For instance. If your opponent attempts to bridge to his right. You slide towards his left.
- Also, make use of maintaining mount techniques. If your opponent pushes on your legs, use your hands and pull his hand straight up. If he pushes on your chest, swim your arms in to break his off of your chest. If he tries to shrimp, to his right for example, use your left arm to cross face him and push his head back to center.
